ugh, apart from 'scary movie' and 'mighty joe young', THAT is the worst film ever made...

Come on now. You can't honestly tell me that the "standards" American Pie don't live up to are British...

..after all, I can't remember a decent film coming out of Britian since Monty Python slowed down.

Well, I guess Trainspotting was ABOUT Scots - maybe that counts. It's still U.K., right?

I guess the entire argument is really immaterial. After all, you're the one who went out of your way to watch an American film, created for a sub-standard film environment, by producers/directors who were undoubtedly sub-standard. <shrug>

Oh yeah, weren't the other "worst movies" American movies as well? :) It doesn't really matter - if you'll continue to pay for movies that are inherently below the comic elegance of Brits, that's cool; at least you're helping our economy. :D

um... sorry to uh... piss on your bonfire or whatever that saying is, but i HATE british films with a passion. they are SHIT. all of them. well, i liked the italian job. thats about it. all we do now are shitty comedies, shitty 'gangsta' films and shitty romantic fucks.

fuck british films. i agree with you. i only saw american pie because my friends and i believe in watching films we know we wont like so we can know what we're talking about when we slag them off, basically. its just for experience. i love films so i watch as many as i can, even bad ones...

Wow. Cool.

Well, then I guess my last ranting was directed at anyone who's a fan of British films.

:)

Either way, I still like American Pie. Hahahha.

Every single type of kid that went to high school with us is represented in that movie, and it's dead on balls accurate. It cracks me up to no end to watch the stuff from high school stereotyped and generalized in a humorous way. :)

I'm going to have to change my nick to Siskel, if this thread doesn't end soon. Hahhahaha. :D

How about Stifler instead. Ha. I actually thought American Pie 2 was much better than the first.

Here in Brazil it didn't go well eather. It's too "americanish" for other cultures. I could have some fun because I lived in the US, but those who don't know american culture thought it was "gross".

no no no its not about 'not understanding americans' - we understnd the joke it just isnt funny. this is evident in the fact that many americans found it simply boring - you watch, you say 'oh look, another gag' but you DONT laugh because the gags just arent good enough... not for me anyway... as i said, most americans seem content with this rubbish stuff.
