Israel has the IMI! What weapons do they carry? Uzis! Galelee machine guns! Talon guns and Talon grenade and rocket launchers. Most of the tanks are made by IMI, many of the helicopters are made by the IMI. The only thing the US really gives the most are the F16 planes, and they really don't even use them, they use helicopters.

That is your american ideals talking. That is the obvious solution to us, but "holy war" by definition won't allow that kind of riff-raff to happen.

There is no fucking way Israel will win a multi-front war. They have a great military, hell all their IAF training is in the field, not simulators or dogfights with their buddies. As long as Israel has the PLO to punch around, they don't have to take on a serious foe.

In the event of a war, massive resources will go out to take the enimy head-on, meanwhile they have to defend their borders AND protect the citizens at mini-mart from crazed bombers. Or they could sit behind their own borders and try to hold of the attacks, until their walls inevitably crumble.

Damn straight if Palestine is given their own state they'll build a military and defense. Not only that, they'll already have the arabic support, and invite them to build a presence within Palestine. THAT IS WHAT COUNTRIES DO.

Israel, however, fails to seek allies within a massively arab-dominating region. They screw any ally they already have- muliple times. I'm beginning to think the only reason the US provides resources is because they know they fucked up, but can't seem to admit this 60-year-old mistake.

So Israel has surrounded Arafats compound in recent days. Israel has been ordered by the arabs AND the USA, "DO NOT LAY A FINGER ON YASSER ARAFAT". This is their chance, Warren. What do you think will happen if they take him down? insto-peace? Hell no.

If Israel ever enters a real war, their Helicopters won't be effective enough to hold back shit. They'll be needing some quick and fierce firepower to extend beyond their borders. Who supplied that capability again? Oh yeah, the US.

Okay, Sharon plainly stated that he has no desires for peace. That pretty much states that Israel has no desire for peace. I don't care how many mini-marts are blown up since those seem to be disposable (along with their innocent citizens), and it seems to be used to conjure up sympathy for Israel.

If/when the US decides enough is enough and gives up support, Israel better have a back up plan. And it better include having already-established relationhips and treaties with their neighbors. Otherwise their country can get small real quick.

Okay, although i practice a religon myself, i have to say that this is one of the times when religon can be very dangerous. Warren is obviously an intelligent and very opinionated guy which is definitely a good thing, especially considering his age. BUT just by having been brought up a certain way i.e in a jewish household, with such thoughts being freely propogated around him, he already has foundation beliefs instilled in him which, consciously or sub-consciously, he will probably never be able to look at truly objectively. Thus any facts or figures he later discovers would be interpreted with a bias, no matter how hard he tried to remain open-minded.
Although it could never be scientifically proven, if he was placed into an Arab household immediately after birth (but given equal levels of education, experience, etc), his mindset, views and opinions would probably be radically different from that which he has now.
If you took an honest, decent man from each side of the fighting and sat them down, you'd probably hear a good argument from each of them for why they feel they are 'right'. This 'war' has gone on for years for a reason: All sides believe they 'right' and so a conclusion will never be reached. Therefore, a comprimise is the best that can be hoped for, but this will never be reached if there is one party not willing to 'give' a little. And there is only one person who fits that description. If you seriously think that killing only one person will stop this madness, its certainly not Arafat.
