Don't start with your "artsy-fartsy" crap, Coder. This thread was indeed intended to display movies we are embarrassed to admit we have a liking for.
Psycho tainted with age, but in the next 50 years it will still be a milestone in Cinema History. Spiderman won't be on that list, even after its initial release.
That doesn't mean Spiderman won't be entertaining for entertainments sake. Entertainment is the sole reason I go to the movies, and 99.9% of tickets sales are sold for the same reason.
My movies, in no particular order:
1.) The Wedding Singer (Adam Sandler, Drew Barrymore)
2.) One Fine Day (Michelle Pfeifer, George Clooney)
3.) The Good, the Bad and the Ugly (Clint Eastwood)
4.) Nightmare Before Christmas (Tim Burton directed- okay I'm not really embarassed, but I just wanted to acknowledge this movie)
5.) Grumpy Old Men/Grumpier Old Men (Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau)
6.) Smokey and the Bandit (Burt Reynolds, Sally Field, Jackie Gleason)
7.) Memphis Belle (too many people to list)
8.) Ever After (Drew Barrymore- brilliant retelling of Cinderella)
9.) The American President (Michael Douglas, Annette Bening, Martin Sheen, Michael J. Fox)
10.) Basically anything with Sean Connery, especially "The Rock", "Hunt for Red October" and James Bond.
