In NC when I turned 15 I got my permit after I took the dumb drivers ed at my HS in 92'. Then the summer of 93 I got my Dr. Lic after I passed the test and had enough money from my real job to buy my own car, my own insurance, and have atleast 3k saved up to pay for any repairs and emergency crap. my first car was a 83 Datsun (Nissan) Sentra. My next car was a brandnew 98 Saturn SL2 purchased Dec. of 97 (awesome car in gas and maintence). Then since I had the chance I went head of got me another Saturn at a good price. The extra headroom and leg space is much appreciated since I am 6'7" @ 203lbs.

Here in Ga people do not know how to drive on a nice sunny day with dry roads, if you add water of any type (snow, ice, snow, or fog) peoples IQ here drops about 140 points and they turn in to idiots in a box of death. It astounds me how people can get a lic and drive like that. I see on my way to work everyday (15 miles) about 20+ wrecks due to this. On the way home at times between 5pm-7pm I see anywhere from 30+ wrecks that involves multiple cars. If is funny seeing people drive here without using the blinkers, or using common courtesy and safe driving skills. It is a real shame that 70% of the people dont know there cars like they should before driving.
I am not the most perfect driver out there, but I have only been into 4 wrecks while driving a car and it was alwasy the others person fault cause I was either rear ended or sideswiped. Everytime this has happened there was a cop around (very funny when the other person claims it was my fault and the cop has said well "I watched it all happen" and he fines them for stupidity on something he can legally find to fine them for) I love this.

Well enough rambling from me. Too many migraine medz in the system and they make me all loopy and stupid.

Yeah, Moose, I know: ae = ä

And because I've got Umlaute (uh, sounds strange to take the German plural here... Umlauts... nah!) on my keyboard, I'll use them whenever I can!

Päül ist dööf! :D Sorry.

Warren:
Driving on the Autobahn is the easiest part, I'd say. Okay, you have to be able to control the car at 180 km/h , but driving in the city at peak traffic hours requires much more concentration than simply going straight on.

Oh yeah.. as soon as i got my license last year it makes me a full pledged driver. No "can't be out after this hour" junk, or "only 1 passenger" junk.

Only 180km/h (110mph)? I would think closer to 140mph. Well, it all depends on your car. Last year, my dad was in Austria, on the Autobahn, in a Renault something, going at 120mph, and people in big Mercedes and stuff were passing him like mad. He said he saw a Porsche pass him at at least 200mph. A colege went with him (who really drove), and said he thought it was crazy. Well, in the US, and most of the world, it's 65mph (102km/h). Most American cars can't even do 110mph, nor can barely handle it, so there's no way it'll ever be changed, and people are bad drivers too. Actually, Massachusetts wanted to change it to 55mph (90km/h), but that never passed. Ahh the Autobahn, the only place in the world where there's reason to get a fast car.

Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."
