Linkin Park is awesome, but I would have to agree that I am becoming slightly less fond of them since their MTV fame. I loved them as soon as I first heard "One Step Closer". I bought the CD the next day, and MTV adopted them not long after "Crawling" was at #1 for like forever. It's kinda like Pokémon. Before it came out it looked like and interesting and promising game for the GB. But after every child between the ages of 3 & 10 had everything Pokémon, it was annoying, and the game became disliked. But I will say, I still do like Linkin Park alot. My Fav bands are:

KoRn
Tool
Sevendust
3rd Strike
Flaw
Cold (Not Coldplay, they suck major ass)
Dope
Rammstein
System of a Down
ICP & Twiztid
Marilyn Manson (The old stuff mostly)
MuDvAyNe
Mushroomhead
Papa Roach
Disturbed.
Saliva

Damn right. I would dare say that SOAD is the most original band to enter the Heavy Metal scene since KoRn. I saw them at the Pledge of Allegiance tour and was completely wowed by their live show. Especially in seeing Serj's shifty eyes in real life. It was just cool. (Of course I was in the 4th row of the pit)

I wanted all things
To seem to make some sense,
So we all could be happy, yes,
Instead of tense.
And I made up lies
So that they fit nice,
And I made this sad world
A par-a-dise.

I have an eclectic taste in music, I listen to a little bit of everything (Except country and most pop like Britney or Boy Bands). That with my lack of exposure to a lot of music and the fact that it doesn't hold an extreme amount of interest to me adds up to T3_Racer's statement being true.
