Yeah, but the engine stuff that I've seen didn't have this quality, it was a filmed presentation or something.

However, this video is cool, Carmack looks like he's 20 years old or something... :lol:

I'm beginning to hate people who make these super powerful renderers... like Willits (awesome mapper IMO) said, they've had most of their restrictions lifted. As a level designer, I know how long it takes to make such maps with reasonable detail. With Doom3, I can see that time quadrupling - just like it did between Wolf and Doom, Doom and Quake, Quake and Quake 3.

See, game design is turning into the film industry where hundreds of people are needed to create just one quarter of the experience.

But hell, it sure looks cool. Swinging lights - whee!

FilePlanet itself doesn't spam, but maybe that's because I have an email @captured.com (another site on the gsi army..) account so nyah nyah :P

As for Doom III, I've been looking for anything at all since it was first rumoured.. huge Doom fan, still play online thanks to ZDaemon and csDoom. With good time too, as Quake3 is starting to look old :P I'm going to miss the fast action that all their other games had, Doom included. I think that will kill it for me, I hate slow games like CS. Anyone who plays CS should be beaten and killed with a large blunt OMG WTF W4LLh4CK stick.

Wow it's scary how my mini rants evolve into a.. more.. ranty.. pile of crap.
