KoRn- Untouchables

I declar myself the winner of this flamewar, I was the first to personally offend someone (sandmann) :P

BTW, that's exactly why I love Rammstein. They're hard to categorize, different songs on the same album can sound so different but still have their distinct sound.

Bueck Dich, where he erm.. sodomizes a band member with a large dildo in his pants hooked up to a hose is just for the shock factor.

Sure their albums may not have the deepest of lyrics, or not go away from 2-3 themes, but it's the music that counts. Their newest album was easily their best one yet, though I was a bit disappointed it was more traditional rock, and not enough electronica influence as in the past (especially Sehnsucht)

Du Hast isn't even one of their better songs, the really simple lyrics is the only reason it caught on. If you listen to one R+ song, make it Asche Zu Asche (especially live) or Alter Mann.

You can tell I'm passionate about the band, they are my favorite band. 10 hours of MP3s, and I own all the albums, the Live Aus Berlin DVD, and 2 tshirts. Something is wrong here :P

http://icecast.eifersucht.net is a streaming shoutcast channel that play R+ 24 hours a day. My record so far was 230 minutes straight.

[edit, 5 minutes later] Good lord I just saw how much I wrote.. I should be institutionalized (sp..) ...

[edit again] Forgot to mention they can preform some kickass ballads.. Seemann and Mutter are awesome.
holy internets batman.

Now, now , Moose, no need to insult others' music (Tenacious D blows).

I haven't heard enough Rammstein to judge, but the bands I have heard that you guys have mentioned, I hate.

If you want musical diversity, listen to any modest mouse cd. They're amazing.

Ideot, the only problem is the songs are in order, not shuffled, so you eventually learn parts of the order. Seriously, I know long chains of songs.. not sure about some of the remix names/live venues though :P Sad really heh.

They have 3 original albums, and one live. Blame the MTV/ClearChannel dominated music world in the US that only one song got out into the states.

I wanted all things
To seem to make some sense,
So we all could be happy, yes,
Instead of tense.
And I made up lies
So that they fit nice,
And I made this sad world
A par-a-dise.

Music is a personal thing... but nonetheless ;)

Fat Boy Slim ... sounds like a 13 year old with a sampler and a drum machine. Ooooh loook mummyyy! I can can can can can can can can can can can can repeat repeat rep rep peat things. Woo-hoo hooo hooo hoo hoooh ooohoohoo. Ad infinitum. Kill me now, please (having said that, he makes good videos).

Moby, on the other hand, is reasonably interesting.

At the Drive In... are, IMHO overrated.

The Strokes / the Hives / a large majority of music around at the moment is just *shit*.

Eminem is a whiny shite, too. One minute he's trying sooo very hard to be anti-establishment, and next he's crying into his milk 'cos people ripped off his CDs. Ugh.

Music currently seems to fall into three categories (ish):

1) Whining starlet / bimbo / "talented 13 year old artiste"... that all sound exactly the same

2) Dull, tedious middle-of-the-road dirge

3) "Bands you're supposed to like" <-- all the shit music that everybody is supposed to like or be frowned at by "people in the know".

In short:

"Baaaah, current music sucks".

and:

"I feel sooo old!"

Cheers,

Refractor
