Well, this probably isn't very embarrassing, but it's the only thing I could think of that I want know public :)

I was in an airplane at Paris' Charles De Gaulle airport which was accelerating down the runway. It was just about to lift off the runway when my phone started ringing in the overhead compartment... I'd left it switched on. Fortunately, none of the flight attendants heard it due to the engine noise.
Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."
