Not just some people; virtually every piece of literature I've seen on the topic backs this. Here's a few:
"World Religions: From Ancient History to the Present" - Parrinder
"The Early History of God: Yahweh and the Other Deities in Ancient Israel" - Smith & Miller
I've not even gotten into the more contreversial aspects of Hebraism. It is well known that into the first century AD, ritual and sacrifice played a huge part of early Hebraism. And this system might have gone on quite a while longer had the Romans not razed the Temple of Jerusalem around 70 AD.
Many of the most-knowledgable people in this field also suspect that even children were sacrificed on occasion. And there is archeological evidence that supports their claims. Your local rabbi would probably not be so hot about conceding this possibility.
Ask any rabbi about the feats of the tannaim. They standardized the relativly loose collection of believes into something like what we'd call Judaism now.
Organic Superlube? Oh, it's great stuff, great stuff. You really have to keep an eye on it, though--it'll try and slide away from you the first chance it gets.
