I don't drive because I'm not technically allowed to. My optic nerves are shafted (well, 2 of them) so I get double vision (and prismatic glasses to "correct" it)... hence the name "refractor". Exciting, huh? :)

Funny part was that my eyes went screwy while I was learning to drive, so I know how to drive... but it'd probably be illegal for me to do it.

Cheers,

Refractor

Oh, another blind one...

I've got about 11 diopters on both eyes, so my eyes don't ever get a sharp image, since the point of sharp seeing is closer to my eyes than their focus. :D

Wearing glasses (THICK ones) or contacts (I prefer them) corrects it easily, but without seeing aid I'd be lost.

That's why our German Bundeswehr (our army) didn't want me for military service, first time ever that I was happy about my bad eyesight!

:D I can't use contacts. Before I had a corrective operation my prescription was up to a 36. What that meant was that at a 1m distance things seemed 36cm apart. My strongest glasses were "only" 14 on each eye... 18mms thick at the outside, 2mm thick at the inside (and that was with high-index polymer)... had to custom-order them from the Institute of Optometry at Elephant and Castle in London.

Bad eyesight sucks. What's irritating for me is that both eyes are "optically" ok, so both eyes can see just fine without glasses... I just can't point them both in the same direction

Thankfully post-operation I was sans glasses for a year, and now I'm only on a 4 total (and on a good morning with a strong cup of coffee I don't need them at all) :D The "invisible" glasses are *great* for those of us who have to wear glasses.

Cheers,

Refractor

not that kind of chip. A new chip for my car to add an extra 20 horsepower. Then I can buy the Type S label for the back of my car and no one will be able to tell the difference.

Anyone know any good sites, though?
