W.A.S.P - gee who wouldn't like Blackie Lawless? I just remember songs like L.O.V.E Machine and School Daze. Those guys were great back in the day. Not really good enough to become icons or classics though.
Whitesnake - Only one name was important in that band: Tawny Kitaine
Queensryche - Dunno, Geoff Tate irritated me.
Speaking of opera singers, what about Iron Maiden? Back in the day, that shit rawked. My brother and I listened to it on a recent road trip and laughed our asses off. Cheesy lyrics and any reason to sing opera in a heavy metal band.
You see, back in the 80's, it was a requirement to know specifics. Every band members name, what instrument they play (besides their dick, I mean), recognise their instrument in a lineup, recognise the member in a lineup...
Check this out: the ability to name the songs in the order they appear on the record/tape/cd made you a ROCK GOD. Sometimes the tape would have them in a different order from the record, or it might be lacking one song. The ability to notate that difference just made you the ULTIMATE GOD OF ROCK
Lyrics were important as well. If you knew the lyrics, people would BEG you for a copy. I even sold a few, lol.
Now THAT is the raw definition of geek. Betcha kiddies don't do that nowadays.
and what do you MEAN by "I'm not quite as old as you". lol. Darn I was getting mighty tired of being the second oldest on this board.
OZZY OSBOURNE roolz you all!
