I'd also like to try MacOS X, but mostly because I like trying new OSes all the time. But I would not buy a new computer to try this. X86 is the way to go.
I'm not sure I'd even want to pay for this, since I'd just pay for the GUI.
The core is unix (can get that for free) and there is even a open Darwin project for x86.
Still, Windows is the OS that hasn't left my desktop's HD ever
Remember that if Mac switch to X86, there's no way in hell your going to have an easy time trying to get OSX+ to run on your Windows machine. Apple make their money because they control the hardware and the software, simplifying it for the consumer.
