Lol.. if they get truancy police active over here than I'll be shot to death with those h&k's. I missed a record 43 days in 8th grade. 9th-12th I missed atleast 18 days a year. Anymore and technically you won't get credit for the year.

Well, I've been trying to gleam as much sense out of this conversation as I can so forgive me if I miss some points.

It seems that most of the people who (read carefully) do not favor guns are against the whole idea of killing/miaming another human/animal. To this I totally agree, hell, I even have trouble shooting at a target where the head is assigned the most "point" value.

I'm not quite sure if anyone here is truly anti-gun, it doesn't seem that way, but I think that guns have their correct place in every society, including ours. Personally, I have never shot an animal, but I am part of out local gun club which has skeet, trap, rifle, handgun, and airgun competitions every Saturday. Personally, I enjoy airgun the best, it's by far the most challenging gun to shoot in terms of accuracy; give any rifle marksman without any airgun experience an airgun and see how he fares.

Anyway, the only reason I shoot a gun period is because it's a challenge, same reason I race RC Cars and play Half-Life . I, and the rest of the people at my local gun club, in no way condone shooting a fellow human or animal. Judging by the post that started this all, I see where some of these comments have been coming from; true, shooting a gun is cool, but not to the point where one gets a hard-on....
I wanted all things
To seem to make some sense,
So we all could be happy, yes,
Instead of tense.
And I made up lies
So that they fit nice,
And I made this sad world
A par-a-dise.

Yeah, actually that is really cool. I thought it was rare that a person would go to a firing range and yet have a mindset like that.

I don't even kill bugs. If a big spider walks across my floor, I kind of shoo him to the nearest door, or capture him and toss him outside. Don't kill flies or bees/wasps either.

Im not a vegetarian, so being a carnivore I obviously condone killing animals on some level.

Randall, you obviously don't have mesquitos where ever you are! They are trying to suck the life-blood out of me, so I kill them whenever I have the chance! ;)

What's wrong with killing an animal? Coyotes don't care, why should I? You people are either retarded or have been totally eating up all that's been given to you at school about guns and stuff. Animals are lower on the food chain than humans, and I intend to keep it that way! In a perfect world, we would have no need to kill animals, but we live in nowhere near a perfect world and the animals can't talk to us ;).

Since guns have been abolished in England, the homicide rate has increased, although it is still well below America's.

Another thing, almost all rifle marksmen have experience with airguns. They all had BB guns as a kid :D .

Dan has his head on straight. This reminds me of a quote from my English teacher: "If you're not a liberal by the time you're 20, then you have no heart. If you're not a conservative by the time you're 40, you have no brain." ;)

only hand guns, autos and launchers are illegal. rifles and shotguns are still legal, i shoot a lot myself - rifles and shotguns. its not hard to get a shotgun either, although you need a good reason to get a rifle license.
Why?

Well, rocket launchers aren't legal in America, either. And neither are automatic weapons, except if you have a pre-ban weapon and a really, really strict and expensive license. I mean, you can get fissionable Uranium if you have the right permit.

You foreigners seem to think that America is the Wild West, or something. It's not. Some gun laws are sort of stupid, though. And these new laws (or pending bills) wouldn't be needed if the current laws were only enforced. I find it pretty pathetic that you guys rip on America all the time. I mean, it's our country, we vote for the people who make our laws. You guys aren't U.S. citizens, so you can't decide our laws. We gained the right to do such things when we got our independence.

(don't be offended by that little spout of frustration... It wasn't intended for anyone in particular ;). I am mostly just thinking about other people in other countries, not you guys here on PM.)[/b]

My comment about liberals and conservatives was only in jest. If someone would have said that that means that, according to me, pretty much all liberal politicians would be brainless. I would say that I never meant to say that any politician ever had a brain... or a heart, for that matter! :D ;)

My comment about the BB guns and stuff was a funny, as well. I'm sure that airguns are much different than guns. You have a lot of things to consider with an airgun, like how much air-pressure you have, a much increased need to aim ahead of a moving target, and other such things. I have a pellet gun (12 shot, semi-automatic CO2 powered 8)), so I know what you are talking about.

And I refuse to believe that even you believe that animals should have the same rights as a human who can't take care of himself ("herself" is also implied...). That is just crazy. According to both Christianity (the largest faith in the world) and Evolution, we are told that it is our duty as humans to ensure the survival of mankind, even if it means sometimes at the expense of other species.

BTW, in 1939, Pacific Grove, CA passed an ordinance making it a misdemeanor to molest a butterfly.

I never like killing bugs. Oh, that reminds me of a story. I'll let it.

Quite a few years ago, I can't remember how long, our driveway used to have a bunch of ants. to the right side, the black ants. To the left side, the red ants. One year, the number of ants went WAY up, and there were TONS. Then one day, only one day, they had a war. Not a little one, but a massive big real war. The ENTIRE driveway was COVERED with dead or dying ants. I remember seeing some left over ants fighting, saw some worker ants trying to pull back survivors back to the ant hills. It was pretty sad, so many dead ants everywhere. You could see more worker ants walking around the dead trying to find survivors. There were just as many black as red, so I don't know who won the war. The war probably over resources. That proves that man is not the only animal that has wars. I mean, literally, thousands of ants were laying on the driveway, most mangled, like they were burnt to death. It's just so sad seeing those little worker ants pulling survivors into the ant hills on the side of the driveway, quite amazing and awing too. The number of ants that went to war was insane, it would have been like a real war.

Oh, and the only bug that I do kill are mosquitoes, those bastards!
