I had to look up "Sammy Jankis" on Google to figure out just what you're ranting about. I've also never seen Memento (I didn't know it was a film until it turned up with the Sammy Jankis results); but you'd think that considering the already ridiculous glasses and outfit that I'm wearing in that "mock" picture, you'd be able to surmise that the black and white effect is, indeed, an effect.
