Or you could simply get better locks and an alarm. We did. My house is more secure then a bank. I don't need a shotgun to protect against people since people won't be able to get in here anyway.

I mentioned this before; we're doing some home improvement, and the german company that we use uses only the best materials. Take our bike shed for example: the door has five locking points, the lock is state-of-the-art, it's impossible to open with a crowbar, and the glass is bulletproof. You need to either ram in the door or use a big ass sledge hammer to get through it. I could fix a cup of tea, read the USA Today and phone the police in the time it'd take them to get in the shed
