New linux user, and a bunch of questions

There are always people from Microsoft going to these expositions. Openly criticizing linux and the open-source community. The difference is that they are going officially now.

I am getting tired of linux. Nothing works as it is suposed to, and you have to pay money every month ($5) if you want any type of decent compatibility with games. For now I am a windows guy. Maybe I'll change in the future, but for now, I like having access to the latest drivers, newest games, and an os that does all of the installation dirty work for you.

You are seeing it all wrong, linux IS the game. It's your task to keep everything running by patching and tweaking and stuff. So don't buy games, just go play 'linux'.

hey mike, I already tried that patch but it wouldn't install because I have the Dutch version of WinXP and it wasn't compatible. I'm looking for the Dutch version of the patch now, hopefully that will solve the problem.

GTAIII is the best. I am almost through the second island. Of, I know the patch didn't work for you, but if you guys would read the readme file, it states directly in there the cause of this problem and how to fix it. There is a reason why they include an faq in the readme file.
