For e-mail I'd suggest Evolution... it's free, comes on the Mandrake 9.2 disk, and has Outlook-like functionality. What more could you ask for? It's also got a nifty main overview page with information not only about your appointments, inbox, etc, but also headlines from Linux news sites, etc.
