Focusing on work... thank you internet (p.s. fuck you)

Has anyone noticed how incredibly hard it is to focus on work these days? I have been sitting in the library since 4 and I've only written about 2 1/2 out of the 7 pages I need to write tonight for a paper due tomorrow. I blame the internet, instant messaging, cellphones, and mp3 players. There are too many distractions at my fingertips. I can do any of like a billion other things than type my paper up with one or two devices. And if I somehow manage to get bored of all that informational consumerism, our school library has a starbucks in it. A starbucks, jesus. So after I get bored devouring all the useless knowledge and banter I can handle, I can go soak up some more capitalism at it's finest via a straw and an iced latte. I think it's about time we STOP getting more things. I am not ADD or ADHD or anything, but in this day 'n age I feel like I can't focus for more than like three minutes at a time. I mean I'm already bored of this post, I don't want to expound upon it anymore. The question is, does anyone else notice this? I think we've reached the max level of societal consumerism. We're at saturation point. One more invention to give use something to do besides what we should be doing and I'm going to scream. Okay I'm too bored to type about this anymore, I guess I'll get back to work
