There's a benchmark in Counter Strike: Source, but you need CS:S for it ofcourse :P. CS:S runs like a charm on my dad's (at 800x600 if I am not mistaking) so maybe you can compare the two laptops :).

I run mine with the suggested settings @ 1280x800 and it's pleasant.

Damn! what are your system specs? And does every map run good?

I'm very anxious to see how it'll run on my laptop. I can run Doom 3 just fine, so I guess it won't be a problem *knock on wood*

I payed $70 or $80 for it, can't remember exactly :P (had to pay taxes (!) too)...

It's not the question wether or not the game will run, it's the question how good it'll look on your system :). Because that's about 50% of the reason why somebody wants to play the game. the other 50% is for storyline and just because everybody else is talking about it :).

OK... what the fuck...

I installed everything, registered, subscription stuff went OK, but now when I click to start it just says 'preparing to play Half Life 2' and then that disappears. It doesn't do a goddamn thing.
