Sometimes posts just get deleted instead of moved, so those aren't all the posts that get deleted.

But yeah, we do appreciate sponge's help, and the main reason for keeping forums open at this point is to encourage people to post.

It's a weak argument, but I've been to a few sites that require registration, and I didn't register, even though I wanted to post.

Yea, I can't remember how many foreign language, or just nonsense guest posts I've deleted. Which is why all the Nazi comments come out at me :P

Registration turns a lot of people off. Moderating takes a minute of my time, so there'd have to be a whole lot of noise to signal in order for it to be intrusive.
