The iAudio X5 seems to be getting good review from what I have seen.

Yeah, but it's kinda expensive. I'd like something more on the $260 side.

edit: Anyone got an iHP-120? How's that compare to the iPod? I've read lots of reviews that say the iPod's audio quality isn't too good, but I'm not sure if they're written by people, audiophiles or bandwagon haters.

There is a reason everyone got an iPod. They are great, I got mine just after christmas. (used christmas money to buy it) It's easy to use with one hand, has great battery life, and is pretty decently priced. If you use the apple student discount, you can get it for $270ish I beleive. The sound quality is fine, even with the earbuds that they give you. Their decently loud, and still put out great sound. Only problem I have with the iPod is that it scratches too damn easily. I have to keep it in a nice little case and then all is well.

Nice, forgot about that discount. Screw ebay then. Maybe it's worth it to shell out $30 for that iAudio, though? Hmm... The quality apparently is top-notch, although I'm not sure whether watching videos on that thing would be a gimmick or not.

The video is probly gimicky but it is more open to formats and color screen. I would suggest reading reviews of everything to find out what you would like.

I would go for the mp3 cd players if your not looking to spend that much, I have one plus I'm about to get a car MP3/CD soon so the two go great together. I myself always found the MP3CD players give the best value, since it uses cheap widespread media, and cost a lot cheaper than HD's or flash mem. Size is the only problem but the one I bought a Panasonic ct800 is only about a cm thick, and the battery lasts weeks on one charge.

Anyone know why they havent moved to dvdmp3 players yet? are they not able to shrink DVD players to that size yet, they should at least have these for cars if size is the case. A dvdmp3 player is all I would ever need.
