Random Wallpaper changer

I was looking for a tool that allows me to randomly change my desktop's wallpaper at a set interval. While this is a very easy thing to do (or so I think), I had a pretty hard time finding a decent tool... Most of the tools I found allowed you to add one file per time, and as I wanted to add a couple of houndred, well, let's just say I don't want to spend THAT much time.

Now I found a tool called 'Wallpaper Cycle' (how original ;)), and it's working pretty good. There's just one problem; I have a lot of portrait-sized images, and lots of them are higher in resolution then my screen. So this results in only partial views (view mode is set to 'center'). When I put the view mode to 'stretch', it does display everything, but, of course, the image is totally distorted...

Now onto my question, is there a decent Wallpaper changer that has a solution to this problem build in, or is there an easy way to fix this? I thought of making a Photoshop script that resizes the image, resizes the canvas to match my screen, then fill the background with some sort of color, but I don't really want to run that script every time I add new images...

Any help?

Thanks in advance!

I know, but as the images I want to have as background images are both in portrait aswell as landscape, that doesn't always work well. I tried to do a couple of folders this morning, and it went pretty well, but I messed one part up at the save part. I used the 'save for web' option, as the JPEG quality coming out of that is far better then when you use the 'save as' feature, lot's of the image filenames were too long, according to Photoshop, so he just tossed the last couple of characters of the name. While I don't really mind this, it did pop up that the file name already excisted, as the file name was something like 'a-very-long-file-name---001.jpg' (photoshop adds the dashes instead of spaces -- blame the internet!), but it tried to save the file as 'a-very-long-file-name---0.jpg'. Of course, this only works once...out of 100 (of that folder).

I guess I have to pull out Magic File Renamer again :).

have you looked at WallMaster? Thats a pretty good free wallpaper changer app and allows a lot of selection when it comes to fitting the image to the screen. You can certainly show a portrait image on a landscape screen with the rest of the screen in a background colour of your choice.
