yeah... bloatware. I remember installing Win95 on a computer with a 95 meg harddrive. Let me repeat that so there is no mistake: 95 meg hd. And it still had room for the swapfile, virtual mem and a couple other programs.<br><br>I installed Win2K and it was something like 600-700 meg install. I realize storage is cheap, but come on, that is getting out of hand.

I would like to use only Linux on my system, but as I said, I'm no PC whiz. I heard that Linux has some compatability problems with some programs that there is no patch for. That's why I'll have to submit to Mr. Gates...

you should try linux mandrake 8.1 when it is released. I'm testing the cooker of mandrake (continuous development version -- sorta like beta for 8.1) and i'm liking it a lot.

Chris, and what about compatibility with other programs? Like Norton, for instance?

why would you need norton in linux?... winblows viruses don't work in linux....<br><br>linux is actually secure :)
