A crazy South Korean company called Dream Execution has created a game called "War Rock" that is in all respects Battlefield 2. It's totally free, you just need to register yourself for an ID. The engine is none too shabby as well, see the below screenshot. I've played it for about an hour, and I must say that it is quite a bit of fun. Try it out for yourself at www.warrock.net *

How do they propose to make money? A game like this costs significant amounts of money, are they intending to go subscription or something in the future?

Well, I just went through the registration process ("You were registrated!") but the download is capped at 10KB/s, so not worth bothering with for 200MB.

Shame really, looked a nice game.
