I know it's not totally PPC oriented, but it does give us a chance to see what we might be playing/emulating in the years to come ;)

Last modification: 999 - 05/07/01 at 15:20:18

Hmmmm, tempting, but I think I'll just use my own :). Anyway, If you want still want to meet up, I think the 18th or 19th would be good for me. And now that Ziosoft is going to be showing off it's new games, I think the PPC is going to start to raise a few eyebrows at the show. That is, as long as Need For Speed is what I hope it's going to be, if they start pulling gameboy tricks (not that there's anything wrong with gameboy) and making a 2d Need For Speed, I'm leaving. :)

Oh, and if you're going to be taking pics and mpgs make sure you get as much coverage of the all the E3 scantily clad chicks! And if you're planning on going to any of the parties (who isn't?) make sure you get lots of footage of any kick ass bands and all the wasted, alcoholic adults who still play video games.... er.. um, yeah some pics of the upcoming games would be cool too I guess.

I thought all the 'chicks' at E3 had slowly deteriorated over the years to become 'skanks'?

Ya, the E3 chicks have gone downhill recently. But if anyone would like to be a representative of 3DGameGear.com (cough Jaybot cough) I'd be glad to set you up with any info you'll need. Just as long as you'd get some kind of semi-exclusive information while you're there.

E3 chick used to be awesome. I remember we hired Playboy Playmates to run our booth once. Oh man, I really didn't see much of the show that year, I spent most of it sitting in our booth :P

Eidos was especially good with hiring babes for the show, but those have been replaced with women that you would expect to find at an airport bar.

Nintendo on the otherhand is always pretty good at hiring those "girl next door" cuties. Most work for Nintendo, but they do hire local gals to wear the more scant clothing, like the dominatix outfit the Perfect Dark girls were wearing. Got to hand it to Nintendo, they've got a sophisticated taste in their show girls.

BTW- Anyone think it would be possible to beam the new Zio games to my iPAQ while I'm there? Jaybot, want to provide a diversion while I go for the goods? As shitty as this sounds some *ahem* friends of mine never leave the show empty handed.
Move over Carmack theres a new guy in town and they call him CHUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!

p.s. has anyone see that new doom3 movie omg i'm gonna cream myself the characters are freakin real!! too bad u r gonna have to have a GeForce 3 too run it, and considering the cheapest 3 is like $352 bux on pricewatch i think i'm screwed for a while.

Sure thing, it has to work both ways though, because I have to be able to get the MIPS versions (if there are any) on my Casio somehow. Now, for the distraction, I could just use this utility: http://www3.sympatico.ca/jhc.diebold/mylamp.zip
to blind them all and then you make a dash for it... or if you're doing it you can use any of these:
http://www.tjotala.com/software/wince/pocketforce/default.htm
or http://www.okseriously.com/WinCEStuff/D ... hlight.zip ~ ~ ~

I'm not leaving empty handed. :D
3dgamegear? hmm, you wanna pay for the 200 dollar ticket, and the gas, and the hotel room? What kind of info would you give me? I'm the one who's going to be at E3, wouldn't it be me giving you information?

Besides, since I technically (just recently) got the green light on a free ticket from another source, I kinda have to stay faithful to them :) Still, if anyone want to pay for anything, like gas or the hotel room or a digital camera, I'll give you an exclusive coverage of something for each thing you buy.

Guess it's time to actually buy a digital camera. Maybe I'll just go with the cheap Casio one which does video (CMF-MPG) and JPGS.. only 150 bux... No one will ever know....

999 are you going to be acomplete geek like me and visit the mobile experience tour while it's in town at the same time?

Jaybot:

Prolly not, but if you can enlighten me on it, perhaps I'll rethink my decision.

I'm starting to worry. I can't find my cybershot, and I think I'll have to resort to using an old Sharp camcorder from like '96 to take shots and record video :( p00py.

Oh well, as long as it doesn't look like mud, I suppose it's better than nothing.

Intermission
[sub]Kirby Kicks Ass![/sub]
Q('_'Q)

End Intermission

If the show isn't a total waste of time (kinda like the passed 3 years worth of E3s), I'll headback on day 2 and 3 to snap shots/movies on any specific requests on the Zio games, as well as longer gameplay footage. heh heh.

Now that I think about it, I should prolly take this opportunity to create some sort of relationship with Zio and PocketMatrix while I'm there. If I'm lucky, maybe I can get them to pass me some free loot to give away for the site relaunch :D

Holy shit, that kirby thing was one of the funnier things I've seen in a while, thanks! :)

999: enlightenment? didn't I already do that with all of the PPC flashlight progs :p Honestly the only enlightenment I can give you is this page:

http://www.microsoft.com/mobile/events/2001/mobileexperience/losangeles.asp

And this stuff I got in an email:

"Get ready to have fun with a couple hundred Pocket PC fanatics for an evening of food and fun (OK, OK and some drinks also) at the FanFest.
Beth Goza the Pocket PC Chief Evangelist and party organizer is hard at work making sure everyone has a great time. We’ll have the usual assortment of odd games, beaming, t-shirts and show and tell. Jason Dunn of www.pocketpcthoughts.com fame will also be around to help host the event. So load your Pocket PC up with something cool and bring along that custom case or new app you’ve wanted to show someone and prepare to have a good time. You never know what might earn you a great prize!"

aside from the gouda spread all over that one, I think they mentioned something about alcohol.... so it can't be that bad.

The other one, "The Pocket PC, Wireless and Beyond event will put your productivity in overdrive by learning how to work and play while they’re on the go. This fun, hands-on presentation will demonstrate the power of Microsoft mobile software on Pocket PCs and cell phones and with a wide range of wireless services and accessories. You’ll even get a sneak preview of the codenamed “Stinger” smart phones!"
And I just wanna play around with a stinger, thats the only reason for that one.
And the CompUSA retail demo thing looks like it might be cool too, who knows, I might end up seeing most of this stuff at E3 anyway, but it was free to register, so I can't lose anything by not going.

Hah, I was thinking about bringing my Sharp Camcorder too... then i realized it wasn't mine, maybe I should give it back, nah.

If the show IS a waste of time, atleast it will give me three days in LA to hang out with and try to hit on the skanky girls of E3. And yeah, I guess I can take pics and videos and all that, but it looks like 999 is going to do all the work for me :D

now that I think about it, this would be a good time for me to create some sort of relationship with Anyone in the industry. Maybe I'll even stop by that silly Prima booth :) I bet I could get some free stuff from eveyone one at the show, but I think I'd be too tempted to keep it all to myself. 8)
