What's a "photo radar"? You mean the cops caught you speeding on radar and an automated camera took a picture, and you got to pay $45 x 10^9?

Well if you want to pay 2 to 3 times the ticket amount a lawyer can probably get you off.

The latest rage is the cameras at intersections controlled by a traffic light. Cities have discovered this is a gold mine for revenues and can easily make up for the cost of the camera. Especially when they shorten the time of the yellow light to almost nil.

here's a trick.. i've never tried it though...

send them too much money (just a bit more) and they can't cash the check... there won't be any flags put up, because you sent them a check.. so the ticket will just be ignored... apperantly.. i doubt it works though.. i'll just be a good citizen and pay up.. it's not like my insurance or anything will go up... and no demarits... so.. it doesn't really matter.

Here in Brazil almost every major city is infested with these cameras, both the traffic light ones and those on the light posts on the side of the street. If it's a street you use a lot, you know where the bugger is. But if you don't...
