I've been offline for a while and just noticed the "second wind" that the prank recieved with the US launch of the real Gameboy Advance.

Can anyone out there help me with which sites the fake Emulator has made it to? I've got

from Pocketgamer's news headline, but haven't had much luck with any others.

I *know* it actually got listed as an EMU on one of the big Emulation rings, but for the life of me, I can't remember which of the bazillions that might have been.

I'd like to add the URLs to the "Suckered" sites to my portfolio, along with my and fake sites ;)

Thanks again to Mike and Carpe for helping to make this April Fool's day joke well enough to trick people a second time around :)

Last modification: 999 - 06/19/01 at 12:51:25

Its funny that you mention this, just the other day chris recieved two pieces of hate mail threatening to "hack" the site:) Apparently the two minutes of this mans time was so valuable that he needs vengance. They also said that they "had some friends at nintendo that wanted to talk to us", gimme a break is nintendo going to sue us for pretending to do something illegal? I found it VERY amusing.

Haha! I love "scrubs"! They always lose their cool :D l337 H4x0r gonna get us? Oh no~

I know Ken Lobb at Nintendo, and am sure he would get quite a kick out of the whole GBACE story if push came to shove. So, don't worry about that :)

Thinking back, there were quite a few "spoilers" when the Prank was launched, some of which really suprised me (NANONEWS-boy). Overall, I think their reactions were worth the effort, and despite that, it still went over rather well.

Well, I played a lot of SuperMarioKartR at e3. I haven't bought the import yet (lame me i know). It's really really nice, and best of all, it's a true MarioKart fan's game. What I mean by this is, it stays truer to the original 16 bit version, with coins to speed you up :) The only thing it borrows from the n64 is the prerendered sprites (good thing you backed them up ay NCL?). Anyhow, that's one hell of a racing game if care about that sort of thing.

BTW- got a GBA for my sis today at frys!

Mario Kart....yeah that's a great game for SNES. I wish they get the one of the PockeSNES to work better. I wanna play those games, well, including Street Fighter. Ahh yes.....I would love to play those games on my PPC.
