I got myself a new job

I got fed up with the management idiocy/blackmail at the old one and resigned two weeks ago without anywhere to go to, but knowing that the market was good (Jude was not best pleased).

Rather than being head of development, I'm back to being a senior developer/sometimes-manager but the money is better, the holiday is better, the package generally is better, and the general ambiance couldn't be any worse

Plus I get to laugh at the "prisoners" at the place I left. Fringe benefits rule.

Oh and it's not the one in Maastricht. They and I both thought that the commute would kill me.

Congrats, that was a pretty bold move .

It's working out well so far. The latest news from the old place is that all of my developers and the head of analysis have also found new jobs and quit. It's pretty funny to see watch the company imploding but kind of annoying that all of the work we put into the new product will be for nothing. Ho hum.

Me too! I just quit my job as a waiter, and I got a nice summer internship as a manufacturing process engineer at a local plastic injection mold manufacturer!

But then again, the guys at the restaurant can't stop asking me to cover shifts for them on weekends so im technically going to be working one full time job and one part part time job!

Funny... I did the same thing recently. I quit my job as head of technology to become... technical lead on a project. More money, better conditions, etc. Starting next week.

It's a good time to be a programmer!

Just got an internet connection hooked up at home. Finally out of the stone age.

Got promoted at work already so now I'm officially head of a department in IT .. and it still beats the old place by a mile.
