sketch

Postby randall » Oct 7, 2001 @ 11:13pm

Yup. I was bored today, since my damn cable connection kept screwing up and wouldn't let any of us online. So I decided to sit down and sketch with an old fashioned ball-point pen (Bic) and paper.

Image

It's been a while since I have sketched, and it is remarkably relaxing.

Ya know, you should take a bunch of your drawings, and turn them into t-shirts.

That really looks like it's drawn with a pencil, not a Bic pen. How did you get it to look like that?

lots of practice. I hate pencil, because it smears too easily, and the image tends to fade after a while.

So I very lightly "brush" the pen across the surface of the paper in a cross-hatch pattern. In this picture, you can really see the lines of the pen.

Dunno what kind of T-shirt this would be appropriate for. I have done other T-shirt design though. Its kind of a cheesy market if you ask me.

I have seen kids in my school wearing around shirts with cartoons/drawings on them, and it just reminded me of this, except yours has alot more detail and creativity.

Randall, that's awesome. My congratulations. I admire that kind of gift. I have so many ideas, but when I sit down to put them on paper I get ashamed of what comes out.
I really like mechs and stuff (have lots of wallpapers with that theme). Do you have any drawings with mechs/suits of armor?

a couple hours, that included the non-existent preliminary drawing. One thing I should note about drawing in pen - it doesn't allow you to make mistakes. There is no way to erase pen, so you better have it all planned out in your head first.

My ISP was only down for a little while, and this is the result.
