I think this post may belong in the development forums but I was looking for thoughts from even those that do not write code. I am currentlying working on creating character sheet for the PocketPC that can be updated on the fly without the need for paper or a pencil. So could you guys/gals give me some thoughs as to what features you would like for something like this. I know there are a few D&D nerds out there. I guess I can make it open source/free to use for the help. Thanks

I'm not sure if know it or not, but if not, please take a look at Pocket PCGen and PCGen .
PCGen is a very good java application for creating and managing D&D 3ed characters, including all the published supplements. Pocket PCGen is a read-only viewer for Pocket PCs (there's also a palm version)... the problem is that the export template it provides for PCGen doesn't seem to work in the newest versions (you'll have to edit the file manually) and there weren't any new versions of that program for a while, so I doubht it will be fixed soon.
I do like the general design of the viewer, and an ability to import characters from PCGen would be a definite plus.
Other than that... easy management of hitpoints, spells, potions, xp, and other non-constant stats. Things that the read-only viewer doesn't allow.
Anything else? easy access to spell/feat/item descriptions (again, PCGen provides a nice database of those, so if you can import the characters from there, it'll be quite convinient)[/url]
