Here's the new thread for Luci, NY and Warren...and now me.
1) Switzerland did their part. Actually, in part they kept Germany from getting nukes...but then so did Heisenberg.
2) Russia winning WWII...hahaha...that is funny.
3) I forget who said it, but Hitler did his fair share of losing all by himself. He cut the Luftwaffe off, sent Rammul to Africa and fought a war on 2 fronts, not to mention loosing 1Mil+ soldiers in the Balkens. Not too swift.
4) The U.S. liberated France.
5) Arguing about the 'possible' outcomes of a war can be productive, but never proven. Mere attrition does not win a war.
--In Vietnam, for instance, we the kill ratio was somewhere around 20-1, but I doubt you can say the U.S. won.
--In WWII, the U.S. was outnumbered considerably in many major battles, but still won. Arguably we were out engineered too.
--In the Gulf War the U.S. won through pure technical and training supperiority.
It is difficult to call something the 'magic bullet' that constitutes who will/would have won a war.

I still firmly believe the only reason Germany lost was because of Hitler. For the reasons Ric cited and many others, like in the Battle of Britain when he started bombing cities instead of the air fields, post-poning forever Operation Sea Lion and others. These farg-ups he did only in the beggining of the war, and he continued doing them to the end. I don't think any country won the war, but Hitler lost because he was stupid and crazy.
If somebody sane was in charge, Paul probably would know how to speak German as well as he knows how to speak English.
BTW, if GB had lost the Batlle of Britain, probably the US couldn't have done much.

so I had a message for Luc, and thought about it for a second and realized that in the context of this thread it might come off sounding like I was being a pompous a-hole (which I frequently am).
So Luc, my apologies

First off I agree with RI Coder in that Russia winning the war is just a joke. I said it before and Ill say it again... the only reason we did not enter Germany first was because FDR held Patton back for many political reasons. One being, surrounding the Russians, two being FDR secretly disliked Patton and his personality and did not want to give him that victory he was dying to claim. We did eventually go in, 30 days after the Russians which is when we found the Merkers Mine, a mine the nazis had stashed millions of gold and art in. Patton took home some art for himself although it was covered up. When they found the mine it was totally abandonded and was that way for about a week until they could get some troops to guard it. This caused a lot of villagers trying to steal gold before we got our troops there. Imagine that, an open mine with all that gold just sitting there unguarded for a week for the taking!! As fas as Hitler, it was RUMORED that he had the following things:
1. He was a closet homosexual
2. He had cyphilis
3. He had one testicle
two was later found out to be true, which caused his brain to misfunction and he started making bad decsions. In fact, WE STOPPED some of Hitler's generals from killing him, because we knew if they killed Hitler, and a sane ruler was put in charge the war would've dragged on much longer. So we actually saved Hitlers ass for quite awhile. Hitler was accepted to art school, only as an arcitect and not a painter. This mad him really mad because he really thought his stengths lied in painting, when in fact if youve seen his artwork its his drawings of buildings that are the best. Maybe this is due to the fact that he was so cold hearted that he could relate more to a stone building than the complex emotions in a painting. Either way he decided not to go to The Art School of Vienna, and this set him in motion to become a tyrant.
