Hy to all you gamers and hackers out there listen to this and hopefully you will display your thoughts of it:
If you are familure with the internet filter bess you will especially find this intresting. For the past 3 years in my highschool I and my 3 other friends have been hacking the school system, getting rid of bess and winforcer. :D But just recently to my stupidity they found out who, as in me, was doing it and they called me on it.
I was sitting in class when my teacher walks to the door and calles out my and my friends name. He says "Hey, you guys have been hacking the school system so you are now kicked for two weeks!" :( we are thinking this has to be a joke couse they never cared before, but then he says and if we catch you doing it again your kicked off the system for the rest of your highschool career 8O .
This really puts a damper on my idea of freedom, i was wonder what your thoughts were"
Thank you for your time in reading this.

why should we give a shit. this isn't a hacker forum. thats why you can read most of the words here.
schools always put on lax security and pissed off when you hack it. at my school it slows the pcs down to half their speed becuase its so heavy, but you can hack it through opening a file in word.
what relevance does this have to PQ2?
Why?

You idiot. I have no pity for you. Hacking the school is the lamest trick, especially since it's a federal institution. What, did you try to change your grade? pfft!

Robby, that's the same way as my school (on our crappy Power(less)PC Macs, you just make any change to the Normal.dot file and exit, then poof! there goes half the security!). The administrator even left the Extensions Manager unlocked so that anyone with half a brain and any sort of will could turn off the security or make any other change, but this method is slower and easier to screw up than the Word trick. However, I used to have to hack into our Power PCs in order to save anything to the student server (and we needed to save to the Student Server for our class!), which we have full access to on the other computers in the more public computer lab! That's pretty dumb, if you ask me. I have to hack into the PowerPCs to allocate the memory for PowerPoint to 9+MB, which is more than twice of what it was before (4 MB). This meant that before I did this, I couldn't load more than one PowerPoint presentation at the same time, which is very bad when you need to copy slides, or else make the whole presentation over again. It doesn't help that our teacher is dumb and he admitted himself that he wasn't even qualified for the class that was a prerequisite to this class. How come so many computer teachers are so stupid?

My friend once brought the entire school network down for like a week in much less than a day, and he has no prior experience of that kind. He didn't get caught. I think that he might have even brought part of the college's network down, as well.

Moose, who cares if it's a gov't instition? It's school. Mine is a private school, but still. They should make their security system a little better than that.

Anyways, this is a useless post of mine in an even more useless thread.
Die, Palm, Die. If that offended you, then get rid of your Palm OS device.

I've done my share of "hacking" into the computers. I disabled that safety thing that doesn't let you open my computer or control panel so I could change the refresh rate of the monitor, it was only 60hz before! I also circumvented a file transfer system so everyone could copy The Sims Livin' Large, Descent, and Duke Nukem 3D to play a few kick as multiplayer sessions. The teacher let me, however, because whenever she needed something I used my skills for good. Some moron kid put a password on the CMOS and no one at school knew how to reset the CMOS. It took me 7 seconds. 2 to open the case, 3 to reset using the jumper, another two to close the case.

For those of you who are wonder what bases this has to pocket palm...ect, basicly nothing. It's is true that nothing is really incomin at all and this should not actually be a thread but the one thing that is common is that we cracked the system, whitch is not the same thing as hacking(if i said i hacked excuse my grammer). But after we cracked the system we uploaded Quake II The game on all the Pc's in the class, and since most computer classes are work at your own pace classes, we had the entire class on a compleate wire playing quake II(Rail Areana)! It was quite fun. That was what i was hoping was cool.

People are fucking stupid

Postby Shadow.s » Apr 21, 2002 @ 9:51pm

People are fucking stupid. a teacher asked me why a CD-ROM wasn't working. I hit the eject button and nothing came out. "i put it in here and nothing happened." she said. and she points to one of the vents on the front. Sure, I've hacked the network before. All you gotta do is get a Pocket PC or install :!: Windows NT 4.0 :!: on a laptop, come to a school event, go into the LAN room and since when you installed Win NT on it you set up an Administrator password, your userame on the laptop is added to the ENTIRE school network as an adminisrator.
I did this and gave all other admin's read only access to my name on the network. :D Now, even they can't get rid of the user name without resetting every computer's OS within 3 high schools, 4 elementary schools, and 6 middle schools.
Oh yeah, don't forget to disconnect your laptop/Pocket PC and leave.

Palms suck. There's nothing ore to it. Windows is the way to go. Try doing this trick on a palm. Please!
