I read a very interesting article. There are 2 types of Pentium 4's. The standard (what you would have in a desktop if you had a P4) and a special mobile edition that recently came out. The thing is, to save money, several laptop companies are using the desktop version, which goes through batteries like no other. So, if you are going to get a p4 laptop, make sure you get a mobile edition p4 (which has much better battery life). I believe that the easiest way to identify it is by looking at that intel inside pentium 4 sticker. It should have a "m" after the pentum 4 words (you'll see what I mean if you look at the sticker).

the fact that the p4-m is only available at 1.7 and 1.6ghz speeds would help with your identification.... but it never hurts to double check...

I saw a Fujitsu laptop in Japan that had a DVD-RW in it standard. That's pretty sweet.

$3000 for that laptop, quite insane.
