My Circut City Experience

My Circut City Experience

Postby NYIllustrator » Dec 2, 2001 @ 1:50pm

Ok so I went to circut city yesterday with my friend and my girlfriend. We were looking at the PPC's when I noticed the new ipaq. First off I love the look and feel of the new one and love the little screen protector sleeve it comes with, in fact now I want a new one. Anyway, as you know at these stores they put these little alarms on the back of the PPC's with a cord that runs behind the shelf and plugs into an alarm box so you cant steal the PPC. Well, upon further inspection it appears the morons at circut city alarmed the SLEEVE! Meaning, you could simply slide the ipaq out of the sleeve and walk off with it! Man was I tempted...lol. Then I thought I could even slip my old ipaq in the sleeve and grab the new one and they wouldnt even notice it was gone for a few days. Man, too bad Im honest.

lol, I have seen the same thing at my local staples. and often they dont apply the alarms right and when people pick them up they go off. Very loud and annoying.

They do that at my Best Buy, but I try my best not to go into that store. I hate Best Buy. But what I do when I find them like that, I just call to the clerk sitting there 'in charge of' the booth and then just slide it right off and set it down, then walk away.

I went to CompUSA (CrapUSA) to look...
They had a bunch out, but they all had friggin password protection on, so you had to ask a STUPID zit-faced kid for help...very irritating.

50% of the time I see a PocketPC at staples the screen is broken or scratched until it is unreadable.

Deja vu! A long time ago someone posted almost the exact same thing as Davinci. In fact, at first I thought this was the old thread that had just been bumped. Can anyone find the original? I'm almost 100% sure it was on the PM forums.

Dan East

At our local staples the palms are out as well, mostly with shattered glass screens.
