okay i know i kinda said i had this sorted but i dont.

basically i want something light and portable. at least 800mhz, 128mb, 10/20gb, dvd and the screen, well this thing is i know i should get the biggest i can but i really want a small one, prehaps 12.1" - because all the 12" laptops are light and so on.

the only problem is they arent often very fast and i'd have to get the dvd drive separately.

i'll be using it for running dvds (probably ripping too), web browsing and programming - maybe using lightwave.

it'd be better to have the big screen for that kinda stuff but i really like the idea of having the small one, so i dunno.

i kinda like the r600's from sony coz they've got pretty much those specs but the drive is separate.

meh, if you know of anything like that or can suggest different specs based on what i wanna do, let me know.

it has to be available in the uk. maybe less than $2000 if thats possible.

thank you and goodnight.

When I was in Akihabara, Japan, I saw a trillion laptops. I think the best one's were Fujitsu's, they come with DVD-RWs STANDARD! And this was in December! I don't know about the prices, but I'd recommend a Fujitsu, they're fast, good looking, and awesome. I recommend the Lifebook E-series. 850Mhz - 1.06Ghz, super good colors, 10-30Gb HD, floppy and CDrom, $1600. The P-series is also good at $1500.

Ohh, never mind, go with the C2110, $1800-$2000, but FAST 1.6Ghz, 256Mb RAM, 20Gb HD, CD/DVD/CDRW, floppy, 8Mb ATI Radeon, and FOUR USB ports! Damn, this one is good.

Oh, and yes, it's available in Europe.

i really wanted a black one though (yes, i'm stupid)

anyways, they probably wont be the equivalent of $1600 over here. more like £1600.

Try the Sony Vaio

They make a wide variety of laptops, from the tiny and portable with docking station to the performance at any price laptop.
