hi i have been using a Sony Clie n760c (that's right...a palm os) for almost a month now. when i first got it, i thought it was the greatest man made thing on earth! this was before the omnipotent light of ppc was shed upon me. before i purchased the clie, i debated for a very long time whether to go with a palm os platform or a ppc platform. i finally went with the palm os reassuring myself with grandiose thoughts of ease of use and great battery life. however, i have checked out some of my friends' ppc, and they are just too darn great. now i regret having spent the hefty $400 for a palm os platform (which would have been enough to get me an ipaq 3650!!). i now plan on switching to ppc (hooray!). but i am again faced with difficult choices. i don't know what ppc i should go with. i need something fairly small to carry around, play movies cleanly, great gaming abilities, supports 65k colors, BRIGHT screen that parallels (almost parallels) the ipaq 3835, costs around $400.00 and that supports cf or sd built in. i am leaning towards the new casio e-200 becuase of its integrated cf AND sd slot and bright screen. any other suggestions? anyone hav a ppc they willing to trade for a less than month old sony clie n760c w/box instructions and everything else that came with it and a 64mb magic gate memory stick in addition to the 8mb that comes with it, and a 3 in 1 pentopia clie chameleon stylus? email me at

If money were no object, obviously get the Compaq iPaq 3800, but since it is, yea either the Casio e-200 or you might want to check out the new "@migo" pocket PC. It's $399 and looks like it perfectly matches the description you posted. Here's the link to their website:

By the way, good luck trying to find a trader for your Sony... might as well try to sell it on eBay.

What would be better for my needs: an ipaq 3765 or a casio e200? i don't like the new amigo since it's only 32mb ram. thanks!

i could also get a jornada 568 for a pretty decent price...does the 568 have good video playback and a bright screen? i've heard the battery life on it is better than most other ppc's/..

Casio E-200, it's more reliable than Compaq, and has a better screen. Otherwise they are pretty much identical, just that the Casio E-200 has more card slots. If you are pressed for cash, the Casio EM-500 is selling for $200-$300 right now, instead of the E-200's hefty price tag of $600.

My friend at school just won a Palm m100, it's ok, just very pithetic, but for free it's good.

Personally, I think I'd probably go with the Casio as well. I haven't had any problems with Compaq, but I'm starting to realize that my life would be a lot easier if I had built-in CF. Don't get me wrong, I love the sleeve idea, but I'd rather relegate it to hardware instead of memory.

Here's the best price for the E-200 I could find with MySimon.com -

They also have the EM-500 for $290, and E-125 for $335, and CF Digital Camera for $184. The site's Solutions4Sure, an Office Depot company.

if your pressed for cash and want something that willl play movies and take cf cards with a good screen, i'd get an E125. I have an EM500, and it would need bigger storage cards to carry full movies.
If you can get the cash, get a casio E200. Altho, coming from a sony CLIE, you'd be impressed by a tv remote. Any ppc will make you smile lots and lots.
