so uh... i've got this 180mb winace self-extracing exe file and i double clicked it and it seemed to ectract all the files starting with a .ace and lots of .cxx files going from 0 to 61.

my question is what now? i downloaded winace and kinda selected all of them and told it to extract and it did that but when it got to .c43 it got stuck and seems to have stopped.

i'm not sure whats going on. i dont think the download is corrupt or it wouldnt have extracted the .cxx files in the first place would it?

i just tried another way - opening the .ace and 'extracting' that rather than selecting all the files together...

its given me an access violation in ace.dll.

ah forget it...

That's what you get for warezing... I bet there was a virus hidden in c43 and that's why it stopped. You get viruses from warez, too.

no i think i just downloaded one of the corrupted ones - some people are so lame they download part of a file, cancel it and jst rename it and leave it there for someone to get.

theres a 220+ version too, thats probably the good one but i cant be bothered right now.
