if i'm not mistaken, 90% of us are white men.
the adage goes, if i'm not mistaken:
White guys can't dance.
It's true. Not in all, cases, yes, but often true. White girls (well, any girl really) can dance. It's strange.
Well, unless you have real rhythm. I'm pretty badly coordinated, and my rhythm sucks.
Every guy can (hopefully) slow dance.
Moose: People lie.
Paul: I agree. however, "real" dancing, raving, etc can be fun. not as easy, but sometimes even worth it.
anyone ever been in a musical? it was hell.
"stomping" is better known as moshing
although it gets REALLY cliche and lame when it's teen angst crap like offspring, nirvana, etc.
last time i went to a metal show i got laid out a few times. being light doesnt work well with it. but pointy elbows do.
i need to learn real ballroom dancing. might come in handy some day.

I'm actually somewhat good at dancing in musicals and stuff, but I suck at all other kinds of dancing.

::grin::
wait til you get to high school.
or, the real big leagues (community theatre, or, god forbid, broadway)
hs is definitely more difficult than just a few jazz squares or charlestons or whatever...

I reckon the reason that sort of feeling that "white guys can't dance" exists is a societal thing. White Western males are programmed with a belief that dancing, or any rythmic body movement, is gay, or feminine at the least. Few really get over that, not enough to let themselves go on the dancefloor.
The exception is stomping - I've always called it "moshing" - is it the same thing?
But those middle-eastern guys know how to shake it. I saw a documentary about it once. How do they twist like that?
