CD Player

While I was in Japan back in January, I saw the most beautiful CD player I've ever seen. Unfortunately, it cost 26,000¥ ($210 USD), and I only had 10,000¥ ($80 USD). It was the Sony D-EJ955 in blue. Now I am in the market for a CD player, and I wish to (no, I need to) get this CD player. It has rechargable batteries, EVERYTHING, 2-mode G-Protection, advanced bass mode (limits sound to the range people can hear, so no fuss sound), CD-Text rod, CD-R/RW readable, and I think it can directly WRITE to a CD-R/RW with a cradle (comes with the cradle). Actually, yes it can, it can be like an MD player (MDLP). It is amazing! The top is made of stainless steel with a shiny finish with rings that make it look soooo cool! I wanted it so badly in Japan, but it was way too expensive, my dad loved it too. So, I've been look around the Internet to see if I could import it. Well, I don't speak Japanese, so it's a little difficult. Most distributors only sell it in Japan. I found a few Russian sites that sell it, but not to North America. I even found a few Czech and Swiss sites that have them, but they'd only sell to Europe. Then I found it. An American site that has the D-EJ955 for the US!!!! It's not sold here, so it may come with an adapter or I'll have to get one, but that's easy. I'll try to see if I can get extra batteries (they're not sold in the US), even though they last forever (lithium [like out PPCs!], lasts an average of 65 hours). The site sells it for $179 USD, which is a little high (15,200¥ now in Japan, that's $130), but if I can get it, I need it!! Yes, I would like an MDLP player from Japan, but that's REALLY expensive ($300 USD!), and I have a CD player in my car, so that's why I want a CD player, plus this CD player is like an MDLP, you can record onto CDs the same way, wonderful! And super advanced technology!! AND THE CD IS COVERED WITH JAPANESE WRITING!!! That can't be any cooler!! Anyway, I want it, I need it, and I'm going to get it. I don't have a job, but I mow the neighbor's lawn for $25 a week, and I have $45 now, so I can just owe my parents til I make all the money. That's only 8 weeks til I have $200 dollars, so I can do it. Here's the websites:

For info on the D-EJ955, go to this site. In Japanese.

For the site that sells it in the US, . This site also sells MANY other Japanese products to the US and Canada, including MDLPs, CD players, portable DVD players, MP3 players, and much more!! It looks like a decent site, Warehouse123.com.

I like the blue one *drools* :D

Yes, I can get extra batteries from that site, $24 each, so I'll probably get 1 or 2 extra. They may not be lithium ion, they are NiMH, but I don't know what that is, but who cares! I want them! Here's a picture of the .

Well, on the CD player, 90% of the Japanese writing is on the battery cover. Then a little on the bottom, none on top. Yeah, I have some dragon shirts with Japanese writing, and I wore them in Japan. This one guy said that none of the symbols were actual letters, only one symbol, which meant "long life" were real.

Anyway, I've been looking around the Warehouse123.com site, and they seem completely legidimant (I have no idea on how to spell that). Yeah, it's fine. I'll be ordering as soon as I can, but my parents will want me to pay in full, so I may have to wait til I have all the money.

Oh, not one of those "123.com" websites

legitimate

Ah, legitimate, I'll try to remember that *forgets it all ready*.

Well, I'm not sure, but now I think it can't record like an MDLP, which doesn't matter, because I would use my own CD burner anyway. I just learned that it comes with a AA battery attachment, which lasts 92 hours. I'm still confused on something though... what is "MD Link Optical Output"??? I have no clue, and none of the websites say what it is, just that it has it. Oh well, it sounds cool though. I've been reading reviews on the D-EJ955, and most people love it. One person said that it's the sexiest electronic device in the world (which it is ). Yet, some people say the sound quality is bad, but that's with the supplied earphones, people say that if you use other headphones, that the quality is top of the line. Oh, and the batteries are not lithium ion, they're nickel cadmium.

[edit]
I just found that yahoo.com store sells it for the same price as Warehouse123.com! And I will probably trust Yahoo more than 123... But I don't know the shipping cost of Yahoo, and they don't say.

*TRUMPET BLAIR* I HAVE AN ANNOUNCEMENT! AS OF TOMORROW (7/23/02), I, WARREN, WILL BE WORKING AT MY DAD'S WORK FOR $9.00 AN HOUR!!!! Yes, that's $9.00 an hour! I'll be doing the same job as last time, cleaning and inspecting optical filters, easy. So now I'll be able to afford the new CD player EASY! Instead of 5 weeks, it'll be 3 days! I hope to order it by Friday. I hope to work on weekends during school too, that'll be good, and I'll probably get even more pay! *foams at mouth*

I have perfect ones, the in-the-ear ones, they are sooo nice! SOOOO much better than earbuds or the ones that go around the back of the head, or the ones that clip onto your ears. I don't remember what they're called, but they're yellow and foldable by Sony.

[edit]
I just found a really big picture of the CD player, but it's the silver one, blue is just so much better.
