GMAX is a 'lite' version of 3D studio Max for Video Games.

Looks cool Dan. If you need a beta tester :-D[/list]

What would be cool is if it's compatible with .. that thing rocks. It's a map editor for games that use the quake1/2/3 engines or something similar. I think you can even write quark add-ons so it is compatible with custom map formats.

I remember randall saying he didn't like it because it was buggy and it crashed alot.. that was a while ago though, I think it's better now.

I agree with Randall there :P
If it supports map, you can use anything you want, though frankly the map editor in Quark I found disgusting.

Yeah.. maybe it does suck, but I have always liked it. Probably just because I have used it for ages, but I haven't been able to get used to any other editors either. But .MAP file support would be cool, as you said, people can use whatever editor they like.

Congratulations. That screenshot does not do justice. The movie is AMAZING! How about a nice DivX encoded version?

On content creation tools:

How about writing proprietary tools? You can use VB or Delphi, or in VC++'s case, MFC. Said tools may also support both 3rd party and native file-formats. They will then allow for the user base to mod the game by using the tools used to make the game (as seen in HL, Serious Sam, Neverwinter Nights, etc.). This approach will definitely add a lot of development time, but should make the creation of the content for the game much more streamlined, and avoid licensing fees for SDK's and the like.

This, as all, is IMHO.

Thank you.

It would be pretty difficult to support two types of map formats. Anyway, theres many other solutions if you don't know/like 3DSM. TrueSpace can convert files to 3DSM ones. $100 and its pretty damn good (I like it more than 3DSM)

And you can use a plane to make a plane
