Sandisk, now quadrupling there infamous Ultra II line, has competitors on edge. The new high capacity cards have minimum write speeds of 9mbps, and minimum read speads of 10mbps.

"Matsushita Electric Industrial, better known by its Panasonic brand name, will begin selling a new series of SD (Secure Digital) memory cards internationally at the end of October. The cards will offer double the data transfer speed of its current fastest cards, the company says."

It seems like Sandisk isn't the only manufactorer improving there SD cards. Panasonic readies the release of there 512MB and 1GB SD cards which will double the speed of there previous cards at a whopping 20MBPS maximum transfer rate. Full article over at
