Chuck must still be using glQuake. In glQuake, the textures look okay fullbright.<br><br>WinQuake is different- alot of the walls are pure white, and just about burn my eyes out. I agree with Diego that there should be more shadows and definition.<br><br>I unexpectedly fell off the top balcony because the railing was too short. I don't know if that was by design or not. Usually, railings are 32 units high to keep the player from falling off the ledge, but is still low enough that the player can easily jump over it.<br><br>Shouldn't there be a sky texture in there somewhere? I couldn't tell if the green area around the house was grass or not.<br><br>I also couldn't test it in deathmatch- there doesn't seem to be a spawnpoint so I was restricted to Singleplayer.<br><br>Other than those minor points, it is a good little map. Polycount is low and it is easliy navigable.

Paul, please don't post the Kustok beta on your site. I don't know if you had intended to post it or not.<br><br>I only want 1 version to be available to the public- the beta is just for a few testers.<br><br>As soon as I fix these FOUR irritating textures the map is finished.

well i need a simple example of lighting, because i'm sorry but i don't get it... If somebody would please make like a simple room and light it so i can see how i'd be very appreciative. Also i like the balcony so short, then its easy to get out of... also i don't have any sky textures.. If somebody would send me some that'd be cool too :) I would like to make the stero acctually able to be blown up, i think that'd be pretty neat. I just need to edit tha texture to look blown up and then set a trigger... What trigger would i use. I do also want to add some more furniture here and there, but i was  wondering if anybody had any really low poly furniture for me :) thanks for you support. O and the reason there isn't a railing for the upstairs balcony is because the roof is too low, i didn't really want to raise it because of the fact that the outside walls would gain poly's most likely...

The stereo could be made to blow up using an animated button texture. Kustok uses that for the control panels. You may have to look real close at them to notice, they look better in the final version.<br><br>Also, you don't need to use a trigger to make it blow up- use a button instead.<br><br>The thing about the railing- if people see a railing they expect it to hold them from falling off a ledge. But that is entirely up to you.

just place a light entity in your map. if there aren't any leaks, it will compile and you 'll see a bright light in your map. Everthing else will be pretty dark.<br><br>Place it near the info_playerstart so you can see it as soon as you spawn.<br><br>It really doesn't require a demo or tutorial.

how do i use wally to set  a low ambient lighting, aaaargghhhhhhfffiucckkestmaxussdmuss lighting is bothersome.

You don't use Wally to set lighting at all. Wally is strictly a texture editor.<br><br>Unless you actually meant Worldcraft. Ambient lighting is set with the Default light level setting found in the >Map>Map properties menu.<br><br>But you still need to use Arghlite to compile ambient lighting. The standard light.exe compiler doesn't support ambient lighting.

Don't bother using ambient lighting if you are going to jack it over 100. You might as well leave it fullbright and it looks like shit. It isn't designed to take place of light entities, but rather eliminate harsh shadows.

o i know, thats what i meant not wally, Arghlite. and i don't want it to take the place of FUll Bright i added lights but i have really dark shadows down the alley on each side... i just wannt that to go away :)

i need a sky texture please. I got my map's lighting looking really good, in winquake. It is set at night now, with nice shadows casted all over the place, the ambient lighting is at 90. I just need to fix like 3 more textures and find a sky texture.

Quake has 2 night sky textures. Generate a WAD from the Quake Paks.<br><br>I don't have a night sky texture.<br><br>Last modification: randall - 05/12/01 at 11:05:21

ehhh... i don't exactly know how but o well... I finished my second beta its alot better. I added alot of ammo, fixed alot of lighting. O does the lighting look good. Can i  send it to somebody to post it :)
