DAMMIT

Postby Moose or Chuck » Jul 24, 2001 @ 7:53pm

My miserable Hard Drive crashed. It's been degrading steadily for the last 5 months, and finally came to a vista of destruction, ripping out half of my hard drive into bad sectors, destroying all my files, ebooks, webpages, downloads, pr0n, and PocketPC games and apps. ARGH!
I heard there were problems with computers that are too fast for the hard drive and windows to keep up, but I thought it was some lay person that didn't know anything about computers trying to create the next 9/9/99 scare. ARGH!

Now I'm on a computer that's a tenth the speed with half the RAM and a monitor that's a fifth smaller! HELP!

a) put everything on a removable storage device, like Zip, jaz, or Peerless
b) your a perv
c) most experts beleive that due to HDD that work on magnietics, they're life span will decrease, or whatever, check Silicon.com they had an article on it. Persnally, i prefer Non-magnetic storage solutions, they may be slower, but they're stable.

I threw that in to see people's reactions, obviously. Too bad you don't have any wit.

I hate Quantum, and their tech support line is full of morons. When I tried to rectify their ignorance I was promptly yelled at by the manager. Maybe it's time for a nice Maxtor 60GB hard drive. I was kind of hoping to use my left over money for a GF3 card, not a new hard drive. And this computer sucks.

I've got 16/10/40. But they don't even make 24x write compatible CDs yet, so that burner you mentioned is useless.

Heh, you'd probably have to have a heck of a HD to keep up with 24x ;)
