Where I grew up in Ohio there were A&W drive-ins all over. They served their rootbeer from the tap in large, thick, chilled mugs. There's something about the taste of rootbeer and chilidogs that go together perfectly. Speaking of food, in Ohio if you ordered a hotdog, you got a hotdog with just ketchup and maybe mustard. Down here in Virginia if you order a hotdog it comes with Mustard, Onions, Chili and Cole Slaw. If you ask for a "Coney Dog' they'll usually say "What, you want a Corn Dog?", because they have never even heard of a "Coney Dog". Weird you can drive a few hundred miles across the same country and food is so different. My mom grew up in Ohio and had never heard of Biscuits and Gravy until my dad brought her down here to VA, where its prolific (and delicious). In VA most all hotdogs have a red dye added to make them look pink, where in Ohio you couldn't find such a beast.

Dan East
