Active Sync

Active Sync

Anybody experience their PPC devices not syncing w/o first disconnecting and then reconnecting the cable? We have a total of 6 and only 1 syncs the way it is supposed to. These have all been bought w/i the last month.

that seems to be an iPAQ problem. I used to own a Jornada 540 and very seldom, or never had this problem. With my new iPAQ, it happens very often... :(

I'm not sure if my problem is also from activesync or not: My Cassio E-125 and win98se have synced via USB just fine before, but then when i tried to dl Avantgo, it started causing all kinds of problems. So i removed avantgo from both PC's and now whenever i try to sync my PocketPC, activesync comes up and it connects for like only a second before it looses connection again. It usually is in the "Looking for changes" phase before it looses connection. I've already tried reinstalling the lastest activesync twice already, i even deleted the USB connection on device managet but nothing seems to link my pocketpc with my comp. anymore, HELPPP please!!

jon
About the Autosync-case, I ran into the same problem as Larry did. When I switch on my PC and then plug in the Autosync cable in my IPAQ - what a wonderfull machine - , a connenction is made w/o any problems. The moment I take out the plug (at the IPAQ-port), it will not reconnect automaticly upon plugging the USB-plug back in the IPAQ again.
Not a big problem, but still I wonder how to overcome this.
One trick that I have found with my IPaq is, disable USB on active sync, immediately re-enable it. Place the IPaq in the cradle, works every time. If I do not do this, the IPaq won't sync at all. HTH.

I am running Windows 2000 Pro and my E125 and I have the same problems. After a restart my E125 will sync up great, but then if I take it out of the cradle and put it back in Activesync will run for a second and just stop saying that the device is not connected. My quick fix for that is using Win2k's task manager to force Activesync to shut down then run it again and reinsert my E125 in the cradle. That takes care of the problem but is a real pain in my arse. Has anyone notified Microsoft of this problem?
