Screen Protectors

Does anyone seem to have problems getting them on i waster 5 of the damn things before i finally got one on that had very few air bubbles. They also get alot of dust on the adhesive before it gets on the screen, theses are really gay.

You just don't know how to put them on. You don't lay them down on the thing all at once. You use a credit card or something to put them on, so while they are sliding off their base you can get the air out before it goes on. And you have to clean your screen first, duh.

They're a real pain to put on.<br><br>As Moose pointed out, the trick is to apply the protector film onto your clean pda screen directly off the backing as it's being peeled off. The aid of a credit card or something similar is used to push the air out as the film is leaving the wax backing it came on and being applied to your screen. If you've got a large piece hanging off, toss it and try again. There literally shouldn't be any excess to catch the dust, you should only have 1mm or so of "exposed" film while it's being applied, and that's only between the pda screen and wax backing.<br><br>It's a real bitch, more trouble than it's worth IMHO.<br><br>I will state that if you're using an iPAQ, I don't recommend using a screen protector. The iPAQ stylus and screen compliment eachother, and leave scratches akin to buff marks from cleaning your screen with a soft cloth. I've used my iPAQ over a year without a screen protector, and I can honestly say you cannot tell the difference.<br><br>If you own a Casio on the other hand, by all means PUT ON A SCREEN PROTECTOR!!! Their screens are soft to the touch, like using a ballpoint pen on a stack of notebook paper, just feels comfy. Unfortunately, the screen material doesn't mesh well with the stock stylus tip, and can leave odd trails/markings. They might not neccesarily be scratches, but it does leave a mark. Perhaps once I get my E100 back from Brandon Justice who just resigned as Ed in Cheif at ignXbox (thank god), I'll take some shots of the outline of a fish I drew without a screen protector. You can clearly make out my painting via the stylus markings on the screen. <br><br>

Yeah, iPAQ´s screen is "flexible" so it will not get lots of scratches like Palms. (the only noticeable scratch I have is from when I tried to "flick" the screen with my stylus to get the dust way from it.)

my suggestion is if you ahve a casio. Make the none sticky ones from dalecoffings site. They work wonders and they are cheaaaaaaap

I have a Casio, and I put on a screen protector because I got so many scratches on it, but the protectors looks SOOOOOOOOOOOOO BAD!! It turns white into a reddish yellow color, it makes it look like there's trillions of scratches, the glare is SO bad (even though on the box it said "dramaticly reduces glare!", it makes it worse), the protector doesn't go to the edge of the screen and leaves about 1.5mm on each side, there's a bunch of bubbles that won't come out, and there's this stupid advertisement on the bottom!!!! I wanted to return them, but because the box was opened, I couldn't. I got them at Staples for $20 for 12 protectors. I literally shed a tear looking at how bad the screen looked. I used to get comments like "wow, that thing has great resolution!" but now get "you know, I think it's ok to clean the screen once in a while." Now I'm going to go upstair, look at my Casio, and cry myself to sleep

LOL.<br><br>I never use a screen protector. I guess I'm lucky I don't have any scratches (yet). The screen isn't really that soft.<br><br>Maybe I just have a light touch. I can't imagine how an image of a FISH could be scratched into the surface. I draw, and do all kinds of stuff- PocketQuake probably induces most of the abuse to my screen, yet it still looks brand new.

i've got a few small scratches but none that i am worried about. My dad has screen protectors for his crappy M-100 and i've nnever seen any of the stuff you are describing warren. Maybe its a defect. Return them, show them what happened
