My protection was circumvented because of a weakness I did not want to dedicate time to eliminate. It would have further delayed the initial release. Eventually someone (very familiar with software development, obviously) found a certain temp file (the unencrypted version of the user's "registration key") that DEXplor creates every time it runs, and the rest was pretty easy hacking. I decided it wouldn't be worth my time to patch it. It's not like having better protection would actually make someone want to (or be able to) buy my software.
