Release date EDGELIB SDK 3.00 announced

Release date EDGELIB SDK 3.00 announced

Postby edge » Mar 29, 2007 @ 1:43pm

Elements Interactive announces the final release date of version 3.00 of its cross-platform mobile game engine EDGELIB. Expected release date is moved on week forward to Friday, April 6th, 2007.

"Due to the last-minute addition of an exciting new feature we decided to postpone the release a few days," says Danny Hoffman, Elements Interactive CEO. "We moved the support of 3D animations forward to the 3.00 release, originally planned for a later version."

EDGELIB SDK 3.00 introduces hardware accelerated 3D graphics through OpenGL® ES, additional advanced 3D operations and a new loader plugin for MilkShape 3D models supporting animations.

Along with the 3.00 release, a brand new edition model will be launched, offering a Lite, Standard and Full edition of the EDGELIB SDK. Details on the EDGELIB editions and pricing information will be announced soon.

I have a question about a brand new edition model you want to launch, will we be able to download the full edition for non commercial use ofcourse? And what will be the difference between them? I'am asking because I plan to buy the license proximately after a 6 month, but before that I want already to start the development with the latest version of EdgeLib.

Hi Scihunter,

Yes, the evaluation version of EDGELIB for non-commercial use is unrestricted and will continue to include all features. The evaluation version can be downloaded for free from our website.

I can reveal at this point that the EDGELIB Full edition will have the same price as the current license. The Standard and Lite editions will have very competitive pricing tags.

We will announce more details about this soon.
