0.7.0 is here just in time for Christmas

General updates

More game data can be compressed - this includes Broken Sword .CLU sound files (speech.clu from 175 Mb to 61 Mb, music.clu from 147 Mb to 36 Mb), Smush .SAN files (opening.san in COMI from 83 Mb to 37 Mb). Check the ScummVM 0.7.0 tools package on your desktop computer for more details.

Smartphone support is back (tested on SPV, E100, E200, C500)

Digital Imuse should sound better (again)

Broken Sword 2 should be more memory friendly (if the movies are not playing (will happen in VGA mode), you don't have enough memory to play them. This will be fixed in further releases)

Because I'm not rebuilding for other architectures/platforms anymore until I get requests for each of them ... it's a long and boring task, and if nobody is interested, it's just a waste of my time

OK, here is my request for HPC Pro (WindowsCE 2.11) with SH3-CPU
Is is not nessesairy to do it as soon as possible, but maybe You will find sometimes a minute or more to do the job. I'll try the 0.7.0 on my Loox until the HPC-build is ready
Until now it seems to work very well...

I'm testing 0.7.0 on my Motorola MPX200 smartphone. Its pretty slow comparing to scummvm-0.5.1cep1-Smartphone2002-FixedScaler. And I cannot rebind the "UP" key, it just isnt in the options!

Could you check if GAPI was detected (second screen in the first "About" menu) ?

For the UP key, I think it happens sometimes, it's a bug I haven't managed to track down yet.

no, it's not necessary. It's surprising that it's much slower (it should be a bit slower since I switched to SDL, but not very noticeable, only on very slow devices and I think the mpx200 was pretty fast for a Smartphone when it was released)

I've done some benchmarking with Sam & Max intro sequence ("Friends?!"):

0.5.1 - 3 minutes 02 seconds
0.7.0 - 3 minutes 45 seconds

Dunno if it qualifies as "a bit" or "pretty" slow.

Sam & Max is not a good reference : the midi emulation has always been very slow

Hi!

I detected some strange issues using big ini-Files (> about 1k). I have copied some games and PocketScumm 0.7.0 on a 1GB SD-Card using a Dell Axim X50v (German, PXA270 624 MHz, VGA, 64 MB RAM, 128 MB ROM) and created the ini file by performing an automatic search. Playing Zak FM-TOWNS (which needs to hide the toolbar) it worked fine first time. After playing some other games (which creates some additional entries in the ini-File) the Button for hiding the toolbar has no effect. Trying CoMI on another Card showed the same problem. Reassining the "Hide"-Button has no effect. Deleteing some parts of the ini-File solved the problem.
As far as i can imagine, an ini file greater about 1050 or 1100 Byte causes this problem.

Hi and Happy new year.

I want to report a little bug on PocketScumm.

Randomly, the toolbar can not be hidden, so it can be very awkward.

Regarding to the sources, _forcePanelInvisible variable (in backends/wince/wince-sdl.h & .cpp) does not have default value so it can be randomly true or false. When it is true the toolbar can not be hidden.

thanks for the reports ! I'll fix them at some point and keep you informed in this thread (of course iKi your bug will be easy to fix I miss these because I'm often testing in debug mode ...)
