Me? I'm dishonest, and a dishonest man you can always trust to be dishonest... Honestly. It's the honest ones you want to watch out for, because you can never predict when they're going to do something incredibly...stupid.

I am new to the PDA world, but know I need to get onboard.
I run 2 music stores, and take care of all e-mail/internet activity (usually after store hours) at home, with notes and schedules scattered thru-out home and the 2 stores. Have recently purchased a Treo 600, and although a nice combination of phone and PDA - based on my limited knowledge - feel it falls short for me, with difficult entry, no voice recorder (for notes as well as song ideas (I also record)) as well as very limited MP3 use.
Have decided an 'all-in-one' won't work, and its going back - the Sony T608 phone w/ Bluetooth is on its way. I am now searching for the ultimate 'reasonable' PDA, with Bluetooth, PocketPC 2003, good MP3 features, Voice recording (although also on T608), and easy games functions would be awfully cool to have too.
As with anything new to me, I become obsessed with research, and yours is the only review I've found on the Asus A716. I've been leaning towards the HP, Toshiba, and Tungsten products, but whether or not I win, the Asus is now on my shortlist of PDA's to consider - THANKS !

For a long time I toy with the idea of buying a PPC. Especially for multimedia purposes. I read cool things you can do with it in several forums . Apart from hearing mp3s, I could play playstation games and many other nice classic consoles on it. Also the possibility of watching a film on one's way is great. Playing old adventures like Indiana Jones is surely much fun. At practical view, I could let it act as a mobile dictionary or pocket calculator.
With the wireless LAN, I could surf in the internet, listen to tons of mp3s or watch to the TV livestream of my PC.
The A716 would be the perfect device for me because it is fast, has useable buttons and a very good battery life.
As I'm a student with limeted funds, I couldn't negotiate to spend that much money for a PPC. But as a present, I wouldn'd refuse.

Crosswind technique: "Using your peripheral vision, react to body movements, gasps, groans, and shouts from the other side of the cockpit, and always remember that it's better to be lucky than good."

An Ode to My Asus A716
(if you were mine)

Oh Asus, my Asus, your TFT screen shines bright and fair
Your silver casing in my hands reminds me how much I care
For my sleek and lightweight Asus, you go with me everywhere.

Your 400MHz processor easily handles all I am asking
Always fast, always on, always multi-tasking
Movies, music, gaming, while in the sunlight basking.

Browsing the web with your 802.1b, checking my daily mail,
Connecting via BlueTooth, you never seem to fail
To provide me with my data on even the farthest remote mountain trail.

You have Windows Mobile 2003, more stable than all the others
Never will I forget the birthday of my brother.
You help keep appointments, first one then another.

With 64mb of RAM, you have space enough to spare
Install all to main memory, oh do I dare
Including pictures, Pocket maps and games of Solitaire.

In addition to your internal space, you have dual slots for more
An SD slot, a CF slot, all those cool accessories I adore
I can finally upload my MP3s for mobile music galore.

Your 19 hour battery life I believe can’t be beat,
I can WiFi many hours, not a simple feat
I can use you on a camping trip, oh what a treat.

Your infrared allows to beam. I feel like Captain Kirk. (Beam me up, Scotty)
I can covertly change the TV channel and pretend I am doing work
When I asked, I say “Not me” and turn around and smirk.

Oh Asus, my Asus, that is all I have about you.
Goodbye for now, farewell my friend, I bid you all adieu.
